Festival Marketing Mardi Gras
How do you experience the traditions of Mardi Gras if you're not from New Orleans? You contact the professionals at Joel. For 3 years running that's what American Express has done via their event planner, Festival Marketing, out of New York.
Some 160 elite cardholders spend a long Carnival weekend in New Orleans and experience the traditions of Mardi Gras just like the locals. Joel rented a private home on the famed St. Charles Avenue that is also the traditional uptown parade route for Carnival Krewes. A Carnival Krewe is an organization of men and or women who ride in mask on colorful floats through the streets of the city tossing prized beads and trinkets to the revelers in the streets below. After being transported from local hotels, via police escort, to their Mardi Gras venue guests dined under the oaks while watching the parades roll by on the avenue. At this all day affair these guests experienced the traditions of Mardi Gras in grand style.
